Susan Bijl created the first design and prototype in 2000 after studying at Willem De Kooning Academy in Rotterdam. Her mission was to replace the single-use plastic bag and reduce the waste involved with its use. Taking the classic shape of the plastic bag as a starting point, Susan made it even more functional by making the side creases deeper, therefore adding volume.
Crossbody, on your bike or attached to the stroller; The New Bum Bag is an all-time unisex favorite for your daily essentials. Its box-like shape differentiates the bag from any other handbag and makes it very spacious. The bag is lightweight, has an inside pocket, is available in two sizes and comes with Velcro straps.
This bag is made of our 300D heavy-duty waterproof fabric, which is Bluesign® certified and 100% recycled ripstop polyester, treated with a recycled TPE coating. Features:
- Waterproof.
- A waterproof YKK zipper.
- Inner slip pocket.
- Adjustable shoulder strap.
- Detachable Velcro straps to secure the bag onto objects such as bikes or strollers.
- Bottom reinforcement pannel in the medium size is made from ReTraze 100% recycled polyester.

Our bags can be machine washed at 30 degrees, preferably using a short program. Always wash your bags separately from other fabrics.
